4 Green Resolutions to Begin on Earth Day
Earth Day should be a time for resolutions and new beginnings. It’s about realizing and taking the responsibility to see what can be done better this year as compared to the last year.
This April 22, celebrate Earth Day by taking steps towards living a more eco-friendly lifestyle.
Here are four easy resolutions to adopt that will help create a cleaner, safer world.
Use Less Water: Only 3 % of the water on earth is freshwater that means conservation of this limited resource is very essential. Practice reducing water usage by taking shorter showers, turning off your tap water when it’s not in use and only running the dishwasher once it’s full.
Take Up Thrifting: Most clothing requires up to 200 years to decompose in landfills. Rather than playing into the damaging cycle, donate your used clothing and buy from secondhand shops. Borrow books from your friend or use the library instead of buying them.
Keep Your Neighborhood Clean: You may find a piece of trash on the ground that may seem unimportant however this debris can build up and have a deadly effect on the environment. Instead of avoiding, take the time to pick up the trash you spot and dispose of it in a proper way.
Choose Reusable Over Disposable: At the world’s current rate of waste, about 12000 metric tons of plastic waste will be produced by 2050. Try to Use reusable water bottles and canvas bags when shopping in order to cut down on your contribution to the growing issue & reduce the number of plastic bags you use.
