Here is all that we know so far about the duke and duchess of Sussex’s new home.
Harry and Meghan will live in Frogmore cottage full time. Queen Elizabeth II gifted the cottage to them.
The Frogmore Estate is in Windsor, which is a 10 room home, half a mile from Windsor Castle.
In the early 1800s, Queen Charlotte charged Frogmore cottage to be built as a royal retreat. It overlooks Frogmore house, a royal residence owned by the Crown Estate.
It was named after the numerous frogs living in the close-by muddy region.
Frogmore holds a lot of importance to the Sussex.
They took their engagement photos at Frogmore house in April 2018. It’s also where they hosted their private wedding reception last May.
The estate has been a prominent area for royal family occasions and excursions over the years. It incorporates the royal graveyard, the last resting spot of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
Frogmore house was a country retreat for Queen Charlotte and her daughters in the 1790s.
Queen Victoria’s mother, the Duchess of Kent, inhabited the estate in the 1800s.
