Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington checks into wellness retreat to work on alcohol abuse, exhaustion stress
Actor Kit Harington played the central character Jon Snow in HBO’s hit ‘Game of Thrones’ which ended this month with its finale season eight.
The actor’s representative released a statement saying that the star checked into a treatment facility but not rehab in Connecticut for alcohol abuse, exhaustion and stress a little over a month ago.
His representative added, “Kit has decided to utilize this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues.”
The actor has been outspoken about the stress ‘Game of Thrones’ has produced in the past, revealing in one interview that he entered therapy during the period when his character became more central to the show’s narrative.
He said, “That was a time when I started therapy, and started talking to people. I had felt very unsafe, and I wasn’t talking to anyone. I had to feel very grateful for what I have, but I felt incredibly concerned about whether I could even f***ing act.”
Harington told Esquire a couple of months back that he broke down after filming Jon Snow’s final scenes of Game of Thrones.
